“The earth has music for those who listen.” – William Shakespeare

This past weekend, my partner Abhi and I found ourselves sitting by the beach, indulging in one of our usual heartfelt conversations.

Abhi asked, “If not for your responsibilities, what would you be doing?”
Without hesitation, I replied, “I’d just sit by the beach, listening to the music of the sea and wind.”
He smiled, a bit skeptical, “You can’t do that all day long.”
But I smiled back and said, “I can. I’m a child of the earth.”

Itruly am. Spending time in nature feels like coming home. Digging my hands into the soil, letting the sun warm my skin, sitting by the shore as the waves sing their ageless tune—these are the moments when I feel most alive and at peace.

Nature has an inexplicable way of grounding us. Its rhythms remind us of our own, often drowned out by the noise of modern life. It’s no wonder many cultures, including Hinduism, revere the earth as a mother. The bond between the earth and our souls is unshakable; it’s in our very essence.

The rustling wind, the crashing waves, the quiet hum of a forest—they invite us to pause, listen, and simply be. The earth is always speaking to us, offering calm and healing to those who take the time to listen.

When’s the last time you heard the earth’s music?

Centering Thought

“The earth is always speaking. All we need to do is listen.”

Takeaway Practice

This week, carve out time to connect with nature. Whether it’s a walk in the park, sitting under a tree, or watching the sunset, let the earth’s music remind you to slow down and just be.

Closing Thought

The earth is both teacher and healer. Let’s pause and listen to its timeless music. Who knows what wisdom or peace it may offer us today?

With warmth and light,
Deepali
